An animation programme on ‚Restructuring: Journeying Towards Greater Apostolic Effectiveness?, held at Dhyanashram, Kolkata, from the 3rd to the 6th of December. The meeting was organized by the ‚Re-structuring Commission? appointed by the POSA, in line with the ‚Phesama Statement? of the JCSA (2014) and the ‚Guiding Document on the Restructuring Process in South Asia (2015). These texts in turn were in continuity with an earlier letter of the General on the ‚Universal Vocation of the Jesuit? (2009) and a more recent letter titled, ‚The Renewal of Province Structures in the Service of Universal Mission? (2011). The method employed in the Kolkata Spiritual Animation Process (SAP)
was an Ignatian discernment process that included group sharing. The outcome was the recognition of universality as constitutive of our Jesuit vocation, and a need for greater apostolic collaboration across Province boundaries. All over the Assistancy, numerous animation programmes have been initiated along these lines. It is hoped that such meetings will facilitate both administrative restructuring and apostolic
collaboration in the Assistancy. There will be a variety of such programmes held by the West Zone Provinces, too, in the near future: from three-day meetings to eight-day Retreats. All are
invited to participate in these animation processes, aimed at greater apostolic effectiveness in the Assistancy. The following Western Zone members attended the animation programme:
Fr. Keith D’Souza and Fr. Abhay Shirekar
GOA PROVINCE:Fr. Abreu Savio
Fr. Richard Lopes and Fr. Vincent Braganza
Fr. Peter D’Cruz and Fr. Francis D’Souza
