LOYOLA DIVYAVANI, SHRIRAMPUR

On the occasion of hundred and sixty years of Jesuit mission in Western part of India, a ten – month theology certificate course in Marathi was started in July 2014 at Loyola Divyavani, Shrirampur. This initiative was encouraged by the Provincial Fr. Bhausaheb Sansare, SJ, and financially supported by the District Superior Fr. Joseph D’Souza, SJ. We had thirty participants in the first batch. All the participants, on 24th May 2015, were issued certificates by the District Superior Fr. Joseph D’Souza.
Second batch of Laity Theology Course began on 13th June 2015. District Superior Fr. Joseph D’ Souza, inaugurated the Course. So far we have completed two sessions. In the first session we dealt with topics related to the Introduction to Scriptures. And now we are explaining the Gospels to them. So far twenty one participants have enrolled themselves for the 2nd batch.
One day seminar for Sunday school teachers was organized on 21st June 2015 by Divyavani team. Fr. Prakash Bhalerao, S.J. was the main resource person who accentuated on the importance of the catechism and how to be effective catechism teachers. Thirty participants came from different parishes. After seeing the benefits, they also requested to have this kind of seminars on regular basis.
